It’s working!

And it’s absolutely amazing! Just to put it in the exhibition hall now, in our very dark room, and connect it to the projector! Great success!

Edit: well a few small problems have occurred, but there’s a whole hour until deadline, so plenty of time…

Soon but not yet

So, not many days left now and things seems to be going well.
We have been twirling cords, glued together parts, done a nice poster, moved tables, worked on our exhibition space and seen light. Yeah!
Of course there are more stuff that have been done, smaller more unnoticed stuff.

The exhibition team are working hard, lots of tiny thing left to be taken care of… but most of them can’t be done this early.
Not many problems spotted yet, and hopefully no more will either.

Feel like we are going to make it, and make it good.

gogo team!

Hardware installations

All right, the deadline is getting closer and closer. But still we’re keeping our heads cool and are totally focused on the project. Due to the delay with our technical material the group felt more stressed last week than I think we feel right now. Although that time was very well spent preparing the software and testing small prototypes to see that it actually worked in practise. This proved to help our efficiency.

After the first little hardware installing session on saturday we continued the work and got even more stuff installed. All the LED’s for the light strings are now permanently attached. The basic hardware for the mixing area aswell. That is, to be more precise, the switch/function who will identify what box is placed on the mixing pad. And before I left school for home and curry I also got the same principles working for the activation pads too.

Some of the big task we’re left with is installing the LED’s in the four different boxes, connecting the photo resistors to make the strings work as pleased.

The sketch

Pär made this sketch at the beginning of the project and things are pretty much going to look this way with the exception of the strings that will just be three instead of four.

Bathroom technology

et3.jpget4.jpg

Yesterday me and Dagman started putting the electrical stuff in to the instrument and we almost finished doing the light strings. However, to see if it worked we had to try it in a dark place, hence why we are in the bathroom…

Now we’re getting somewhere

After much waiting we got all the material and we can finally start to put everything together. Today I’ve painted and fixed the last pieces to our device, so there is nothing else left to build except the different color-boxes which johanna already started to work with. And when that is done it’s just to connect everything and get it working. Our hero Dagman have already fixed the technical parts in Pure Data, so now it’s just to get everything working with the hardware. In other words, it’s just the hard work left =P.

Unfortunately we are still waiting for the brief from group 3 in Stockholm so Anton is still not able to start writing on the article.

And Alva has been busy working for us with the exhibition team all day, they seem to have a lot to do but it will probably end up good.
